The success fee for a personal injury claim is the money your attorney receives for successfully resolving your case. Because personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, they get a percentage of your final compensation as payment for their legal services. The fee generally ranges between 33% and 40%, depending on the specifics of each case.
Our Houston personal injury lawyers at Omega Law Group Accident & Injury Attorneys can tell you more about this fee and explain the legal services we can provide to you after an accident. Our team believes in putting clients first, always, so don’t wait to reach out.
What’s a Personal Injury Success Fee?
Personal injury law firms get a “success fee,” also often called a contingency fee, once they fully resolve a claim for a client. This fee covers the legal services they provide, meaning that injury victims do not have to worry about the financial strain of hiring a lawyer on top of their medical bills and other expenses after an accident.
When you hire an attorney from Omega Law Group, you agree that the firm will receive a percentage of your final financial award as payment for the services they offer throughout the legal process.
Services Performed for a Success Fee
Hiring an attorney to handle your legal needs means you’ll get professional and dedicated support throughout all stages of the legal process. You can rely on an attorney from Omega Law Group to focus on:
Answering All of Your Questions
Your attorney will take the time to carefully answer any questions you have after an accident and explain what you should do to strengthen your claim. Your lawyer can take the stress and guesswork out of the legal process.
Gathering Evidence to Strengthen Your Claim
You can rely on your attorney to work tirelessly to collect evidence that can establish negligence for your accident and help you hold the liable party accountable. Your attorney may need to:
- Visit the scene of your accident
- Get witness statements
- Collect a copy of the police report
- Work with expert witnesses
- Look for surveillance footage of the incident
You should contact an attorney as soon as possible after your accident so they can gather all relevant evidence before it disappears.
Working to Resolve Your Claim
Your attorney will work hard to secure the funds you need to cover your losses after an accident. Depending on your situation, your lawyer may need to negotiate with the insurance company for a fair settlement or help with a lawsuit.
You may qualify for funds to pay for your medical bills, lost income, pain and suffering, emotional distress, and other losses.
You can work with your attorney to discuss the value of your claim and the best options to secure the compensation you need to make a financial recovery and move forward with your life.

Our dedicated team at Omega Law Group can explain what the success fee is for personal injury claims and answer other questions, like:
Is the Success Fee the Only Money I Have to Pay My Lawyer?
The success fee for your claim covers the legal services your lawyer provides during the process of handling your claim. You may face other legal expenses after an accident. For example, you may need to pay fees for printing or mailing documents or to hire expert witnesses.
Your attorney should explain all of the potential charges associated with your claim when you reach out for help.
How Does My Attorney Get the Success Fee?
Generally, the payment for your attorney’s legal services will come out of your settlement or verdict before you receive the remaining funds. You do not have to take special action or steps in order to provide your attorney with the success fee.
The size of your attorney’s success fee depends on the overall value of your claim, which motivates your lawyer to work hard to pursue full compensation for your losses from the liable party.
How Do I Find Out What My Lawyer Charges as a Success Fee?
You can directly ask your attorney about the costs of their services during your free initial consultation. You should never sign paperwork offered by a law firm until you’ve discussed their fees.
